Final Meeting for 2011

The 3rd and final RAG meeting of 2011 took place on 17 November with representatives from Everything Everywhere, Virgin Media, BT, 3, Sky, Carphone Warehouse, and E.ON in attendance. In addition to the topical presentations (see Meetings - 2011 in the Members Area), the members agreed on an executive committee and tentative dates for 2012 meetings.

The topical presentations included:

• TMForum / Frameworx: Peter McClure gave an overview of the TMForum, its membership, objectives, and most importantly the Frameworx concept, touching on its predecessors, eTom, TAM, and SID.

• Lean / Six Sigma and Operational Excellence: Gary Ballard presented Virgin Media’s initiative to roll out operational excellence throughout the organisation using Six Sigma principles.

• Cost Assurance: Richard Tarrant (also of Virgin Media) described their efforts to maximise Virgin Media’s bottom line by addressing cost reconciliations.

• Revenue Assurance in Utilities: E.ON’s Richard Hardy gave an overview of the electricity and gas processes, highlighting points in the process chain prone to revenue leakage.
